The First Line Therapy (FLT) program is a dynamic lifestyle change program which helps patients achieve optimal health and well being. FLT addresses the underlining causes of chronic illness (e.g., heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, overweight/obesity, osteoporosis) and other health concerns and symptoms (e.g., fatigue, hormonal imbalance, low sex drive, poor memory, lack of mental clarity) through lifestyle changes involving healthy eating, nutritional supplements, exercise and stress management. The FLT Program addresses:
- making healthy food choices;
- reducing the risk of chronic disease;
- improving body composition and shape;
- replenishing essential fatty acids;
- reducing inflammation;
- improving blood sugar management;
- reducing stress;
- exercise and rest.
The FLT Program activates the natural processes by which the body repairs itself, and helps produce high energy and mental clarity.
Even if you are very healthy, FLT will help assure that you maintain good health.
The program usually involves about 12 weekly visits, but can vary depending upon the patient. We take your health history, conduct a body composition analysis (of muscle, fat, and extra cellular and intra cellular water), and after thorough discussion and analysis, provide you with a customized individual program keyed to your health condition and body composition. We will recommend a proper daily caloric intake level and provide you with a menu plan setting forth the healthy foods you should eat. We will also recommend appropriate nutritional supplements and exercise to help you support optimal health and well being. Our goal, among other things, is to ensure that you maintain muscle mass, while reducing fat. Loss of muscle mass is the #1 biomarker of aging. We will also seek to assure that your body does not produce too much sugar which can lead to obesity, inflammation and diabetes.
